You can see some footage where ships are actually kinda close to the detonation (for an nuclear bomb) but recieve basicly no damage since the water and air absorbs most of the energy. IRL dropping nukes in the water is mainly for testing purpose on stationary targets rather than anything else. I dont even know/think that you can drop nukes on seatiles, since they are used to lower enemy national unity. It is mainly an psychological weapon tho, to heaviely damage the enemy's national unity, similar to HoI III and reallife.įor fleets i highly doubt that tho, since they operate in strategic areas (unless they are in the harbour) and they'd have to be suicidaly close to each other on the open sea and are usualy somewhat spread out. Ingame they will deal massive damage to the units and structures inside that province, yes.
